Township Trustees

The township is governed by a three-member board of trustees, who are elected in November of odd-numbered years to a four-year term beginning on the following January 1. 

 The Board of Trustees will convene one regular meeting per calendar month.  

The regular meeting shall be held on the first Tuesday of every month 

at 7:00 P.M. 

 The Smith Township Board of Trustees is currently accepting resumes for consideration regarding an upcoming vacancy for the Fiscal Officer position with Smith Township.  The eligible candidate must be a qualified elector of Smith Township as this is an elected position and currently reside within Smith Township.  The Fiscal Officer position can be a very rewarding position and offer the opportunity to serve your community.  The candidate will be selected and appointed by the Smith Township Board of Trustees who will then be required to run for the position in the November 2027 General Election for the next 4-year term.   A few of the attributes of a township fiscal officer would be a very high level of attention to detail, accounting, budgeting and payroll practices as well as township government experience with auditing and the Uniform Accounting Network(UAN), compliance with state laws, and ensuring the fiscal health of the township.  If this sounds like you, please forward your resume to smithtrusteeshowalter@gmail.com.
